The Global Game Jam is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization headquartered in San Luis Obispo, California, USA. We promote collaboration, creativity, and people in game development through game jams, focusing on our annual global game jam. In particular, we wish to celebrate and bring together the game development community as it exists all around the world, and all of the creativity, passion and energy that goes into making games.

We hope to inspire developers, create opportunities for innovation, experimentation, and education, and raise awareness about the process of developing games. Our organization holds only 4 paid staff, and relies mainly on the hard work and passion of volunteers from around the world, as well as the generosity of sponsors.
