Jam Site Description:

This is our fifth time running the Global Game Jam in the Green Bay area. We are proud to be co-hosting the site with professors from UWGB!

This game jam will feature a "sneak peak" session at UWGB where we'll show the full theme announce and have some general remarks from the organizers.  Following this we can start brainstorming before the official jam begins on Friday at Urban Hub.  The sneak peak will occur on Monday Jan 30th at 5:00pm at the Christie Theatre in the University Union on UWGB Campus.

The main event starts on Friday Feb 3rd at 5pm at Urban Hub in downtown Green Bay.  At this time we will have local speakers for the first half hour of the jam followed by an abreviated video of the jam theme.  This will be followed by an hour of final brainstorming/coordinating and then jamming all weekend (the jam site is open 24hrs a day from the time we start until the presentations).  A detailed schedule will be posted closer to the jam as we finish rounding up speakers.  Speakers will probably include local developers from Headway, Lost Boys Interactive and other area businesses.  We are securing pizza to be provided on Friday night and Saturday night.

There will be a culminating "show and tell" session at 4pm on Sunday in the main area of Urban Hub.

Troughout the jam we will be streaming jam sessions via Twitch (details pending).   In addition, we will be actively using the discord server for GBGJ!

We will be following the Covid-19 protocols of the venue (Urban Hub Green Bay).  These protocols are set by the city of Green Bay, since this building is owned by the chamber of commerce.  Current protocols are face masks are not required for vaccinatted people and recommended for those not vaccinated.  Full details can be found here:

Sponsoring this years jam are: The Center for Gaming and Interactive Media (UWGB), The Communications/Information Science Department (UWGB), Urban Hub, Headway Studios, Gnome Games and Thawed Codebase.
