FAQs

Is this an 'all night' event?

GGJ 2023 is a 48 hour event - this does not mean you should, or feel pressured, to work through a full 48 hours.
Jammers should act responsibly during this event, taking plenty of breaks and cease working when they are feeling tired.

We encourage safe working practices and reserve the right to ask particiapants to leave should we feel that you are putting your own (or others) health and safety at risk.

Some of the best results in previous years usually come from teams who manage to work at peak performance by taking regular breaks, staying hydrated and eating well.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

You must be a current student, staff member or alumni of Abertay University.
All participants must be aged 16 or over.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Before the event, you may also contact Abertay Game Lab on [email protected] or Twitter @abertaygamelab.

I'm not a student at Abertay, can I still attend?

No, this event is open to students, invited graduates, academia and industry professionals only.

If you work in games, academia or are are curious about games development and would like to attend, please contact us to discuss the potential for being invited to attend our site on [email protected] or via twitter @abertaygamelab.

What is the hashtag so I can get to know my other jammers before the event?

We'll be using #AGLjam23 on social media for event specific tweets and of course will be joining in with the wider Global Game Jam community using #GGJ23
