Jam Site Description:

Registration for the jam is now closed to finalise numbers and site arrangement.

We're a university site with dedicated game development facilities. As well as our own students, we're open to everyone from professional developers to complete newcomers. We encourage people to work in teams with different backgrounds, disciplines and experience levels so everyone can get the most out of the weekend. Join us for a chill couple of days making games!

We are also happy to announce our jam site's partnership with Sheffield's National Videogame Museum - the UK's premiere site of game history and preservation. Jam attendees will have the opportunity to showcase their games in the museum in the weeks following the jam. More information on how this collaboration will work will be released nearer the time.

The University will be open for the duration of the jam, and our city-centre location puts you right near a range of transport links. Pizza will be provided on opening night, and there are a range of local eateries nearby.

If you'd like to take part but can't make it in person on the weekend, then you're welcome to join in remotely as well. We'll be using Discord to manage teams both on-site and remotely, so there's space to be flexible. Let us know how you'd prefer to work and we'll do our best to accomodate.

Please note that while we aim to have development PCs available for all participants, we can't guarantee access for attendees from outside the University. If you can bring a laptop to develop on, then please do.

Please note that access to the Univerisity labs and the NVM is dependent on national Covid-19 guidance. We're keeping an eye on emerging rules and restrictions over the next couple of months, and we have a fallback plan to run the event online should that be required.

We will be fully supporting online participation even if the event does go ahead on site, so those who are less comfortable or unable to attend in person can still take part.
