Jekyll + Hyde

Jekyll + Hyde is a push your luck style puzzle game based upon the 1886 novel ‘Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ written by Robert Louis Stevenson. Each player takes on the role of either Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde, attempting to score the most victory points, with the winning personality finally taking control of the shared body. Players will gain victory points by visiting new locations in London, or being the first to reach objectives which appear on the. The winner will be the player who has the highest combined score from their claimed cards and how far they have progressed along each type of location colour’s visited location tracker. The gameboard is made up of a 7 x 7 square grid of 49 tiles which show locations from around London. On their turn, players will select a die from an available pool of dice which will dictate how far they can move in any particular direction. The player will then choose a location and move the character - potentially visiting a new location or completing an objective by moving to one of the tiles. Turn order is determined by two decks, representing Day and Night phases, and the game is played over five whole rounds. In the ‘Day’ deck, Dr. Jekyll dominates and has a higher chance of making a move, whilst in the ‘Night’ deck, Mr. Hyde is more likely to make a move: however, the order of moves will be random chance! Moves must be chosen carefully in order to avoid setting up your opponent with a point- scoring move! Play continues until all five rounds are complete: the player with the most victory points wins the game!
