The jam will be an online jam, but it will be hosted in spirit out of the Iqaluit Pinnguaq Makerspace. Pinnguaq Association (https://pinnguaq.com/) will be the hosting organization.
The jam is open to anybody, though participation of people living in Nunavut or with ties to Northern Canada is most strongly encouraged.
As this is the first jam of it's kind and the community of northern game makers is small, we are capping participation at 25 people.
Facebook will be the online platform used to organize the jam. A facebook page will be created for the jam and be used as the primary means of communication. This page will also serve as the gateway for registration and forming of jam teams. The kickoff event will be done through Facebook Live.
The jam will be "open" for the times listed below, meaning that I will be available to answer questions, provide support, etc. As the jam is remote, jammers are free to continue jamming outside those times.
Timetable
Friday 5:00 - 9:00 PM
Saturday 10:00 - 6:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 - 5:00 PM
This jam is unique as it will be hosted out of Nunavut, and I hope will provide an opportunity for people our territory to create games and tell stories.
