Welcome to RVA Game Jams' Global Game Jam site!
Global Game Jam is upon us! If you're not familiar with it, Global Game Jam is an event hosted all around the world for people to make a game in 48 hours. During this time, you'll work with a small team to make a game. We'll be hosting Global Game Jam here in Richmond!
This year, we have two wonderful speakers for you all: Chris Kindred and Rachel Sala.
Chris Kindred is an illustrator, game writer, and designer based in Brooklyn. While he studies narrative design at NYU Game Center, he seeks to make interactive fiction more accessible.
Rachel Sala is a Los Angeles based artist and independent game developer. She was a lead on the much anticipated Frog Fractions 2, which launched December 2016, and since then has worked on numerous other titles, including the 2017 summer hit Dream Daddy and Super Meat Boy Forever.
We're incredibly excited to have Rachel and Chris talk to us about their careers and experiences in game development. After their talks, we'll play the Global Game Jam video, announce the theme, and then break into teams to plan for the jam. Saturday and Sunday we'll be at the VCU Library lecture hall for the actual jamming!
