GAME JAM PROGRAM 2020
ARRIVAL
Park in the NJIT parking garage. Enter William S. Guttenberg Information Technologies Center (GITC) from either the intersection of Central Avenue and Lock Street or through Bleeker Street. Due to ongoing construction, you will not be able to drive through Bleeker Street or park on it. Stop by the registration table set up outside of GITC 3600. Sign in, pick up a packet, and acquaint yourself with area (restrooms, vending machines, campus, etc.). We will be requiring photo ID at the registration table.

5:30-5:40 PM - Official jam kick-off, Logistics
5:40-6:00 PM - Past favorite GGJ games (TBD)
6:00-6:15 PM - Theme Discussion (TBD)
6:15-7:00PM - Snack/Food Break
7:00-7:45 PM - Warm up / Brainstorming
7:45-8:15 PM - Pitches and team forming
8:30 PM - Start jamming!!
Saturday
3:00 PM - Deadline to set up game teams and individual IDs on GGJ web site Whole day Opportunity for reviews and discussions with a number of Art + Design and Information Technology faculty.
Sunday
3:00 PM - Deadline for the projects, the best version of their game uploaded
3:00-4:00 PM - Informal reviews of games and mingling: the groups show their games to each other and play each others' games while the jury panel reviews games.
4:00 PM - Presentation of the games in the auditorium. The groups present their games to the participants, describe their ambitions and answer questions.
5:00-5:30 PM - Panel Discussion, Awards, Closing Ceremony
PARKING AND CAMPUS INFO
Free parking is available at the parking deck of NJIT. Driving directions to NJIT and to both of its parking decks are here
Below is a link to a campus map. The parking decks are building numbers 1 and 37. GITC is building 31. Weston Hall is building number 4.
For parking, use the NJIT parking garages. If you plan to stay beyond 10 PM, please park your car on or above level 5. Levels 4 and below are reserved for day parking only. The parking garages require card access. If you don’t have a card, you will have to use buzzer at the gate to gain the access. Explain to the public safety officer that you are coming for the Global Game Jam event on campus. There is also possibility of parking on the adjacent streets around the campus. However, there is no overnight street parking.
TECHNOLOGIES INFO
WiFi is available for all. If you are not a NJIT student, you can request a guest ID through the public NJIT network. Computer stations will be available for use in both Weston Hall and GITC. Computer stations will require a login, so if you do need to use one of the available computer stations please reach out to the GGJ staff managing this site for help. We encourage you to bring your own computer if you do have one available so that we have stations available for those who do not readily have computers at their disposal.
