Heim is a game about feeling isolated in an unfamiliar place filled with unfamiliar people who you do not understand, and trying to adapt to find a new home there. The concept came about due to our team's experiences with both immigrating ourselves and coming from immigrant families, as well as trying to learn new languages. We wanted to show both the loneliness of feeling out of place, as well as the hope and determination in overcoming those struggles. Heim was made in Unreal Engine 4 by a group of 3 students and one indie developer.
