[ If you joined the jam site late and have not received a welcome email, please read this - http://www.igdabangalore.org/2018/01/welcome-to-global-game-jam-bangalore.html ]
We would love for you to join us this January for yet another exciting Global Game Jam 2018 in Bangalore.
IGDA Bangalore has helped run the Bangalore edition of the Global Game Jam. The longest running and most attended Global Game Jam in India runs in Bangalore and was organized by the IGDA Bangalore chapter since 2013 with the support of Dhruva Interactive. 2017 marked the fifth year of GGJ Bangalore. In the last five years, over 78 games were made at GGJ Bangalore by around 300 jammers.
With the help of the NASSCOM Gaming Forum, we have helped fast track the start of more jam sites (locations) around the country. We also maintain a community chat as forum for the dissemination of critical information during the jam on location at Bangalore as well as with other jam sites.
GGJ Bangalore will be a 48 hour game jam on the 26-28th of January, 2018. Our goal this year is to accommodate the many folks whom we have turned down over the past years due to venue constraints and focus on scaling the event from what it is now. A growing industry and a student/hobbyist community in Bangalore has always helped us keep our numbers high and we want to give back to the community by hosting a jam that can accommodate us all. This year we are teaming up with Srishti to run the 6th edition of the Global Game Jam here in Bangalore.
Srishti is hosting the Global Game Jam in Bangalore this year.
Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology is a non-residential institution founded in 1996 by the Ujwal Trust with the objective of providing art and design education in an environment of creativity to maximize the individual’s potential. The Ujwal Trust also manages Srishti's sister institution, the prestigious Mallya Aditi International School. Srishti's mission is facilitated by its organizational structure – a “community of learners” comprising industry-experienced faculty and energetic students who continually explore and experiment with art and design pedagogies, aesthetics, values and innovative practices. Srishti plays host to the 6th edition of the Global Game Jam in Bangalore this year.
