The reasoning behind the title: Infect indicates an infection, while toon stands for Cartoon. The theme of this game is transmission of diseases, and remedy respectively. The game is a two player game where player one, a fly like character, controls a fly that transmits disease. The targets are non playable characters. Player 2, transmits a remedy. Player 2 has the ability to defeat Player 1, after a certain amount of people have been cured. The characters that are affected are shrunk in size, to symbolize an additional transition.
