Crystal Echo

A cry in the dark wakes you from your slumber: “Help me! I’m so alone. Is anyone out there?” You come to your senses but see nothing but darkness. Are you blind? No, it’s just too dark to see anything. You shout out to the voice, and a nearby light nearly blinds you. You first notice your reflection gleaming off of a large crystal right in front of you. Treads, copper dome, everything seems to be there and intact, but the light fades too fast for you to be sure. A dim glow remains at the source of the light, high above, pulsating as it speaks to you. “Oh thank the makers there’s someone here. Help me! Please!” =================================================================================================================================== Inspired by Duskers, 17776: What Football Will Look Like in the Future, Super Metroid, and Axiom Verge, Crystal Echo tells the story of an sentient-AI-controlled cave-spelunking vehicle that has awoken from an unexplained slumber to find itself at the behest of a lonely radio tower AI. The tower has been alone for a very long time, and desperately wants help reconnecting with its friends. Neither of you know how you got there, all you know is that your headlights are busted and helping these light-up radio towers is your only hope of finding your way back to the surface or finding out what cut off all communications down here.
