Fight fire with ice (working title)
This is a first prototype for a physical game meant to be played in a narrow 40 feet long metal shipping container with white walls that will have video projected on them. The material and shape of the room creates a nice sound environment and part of the game is also to compose the sound.
With motions sensors, for example kinect, and projectors we aim at creating a seamless experience where the player can move in the room and ‘paint’ with ice on the walls to keep fire balls from hitting the player or the ground where the fire can spread. The ice brushes have different sounds and you can use both a swiping and a tapping motion to play the sounds and also contain the fire balls.
For our first prototyp, with this short amount of time, we decided to test a simpler game play in a VR environment built with the Unreal Engine, played with Oculus and Leap.
Stop fire balls from landing on the ground and burning it, by catching and freezing them to ice.
More and faster fire balls come your way, if you do not catch them the ground starts burning and fire grows. Try to catch them and turn them in to ice, make as many ice balls as you can.
Story
The sun has always been worshipped by earthlings but many tribes started to worship the ice demons more. The sun got angry and is now sending its fire demons at them because it is unhappy with their behavior. Earthlings have to defend themselves by freezing the fire balls falling down on their land.
