GAME JAM PROGRAM 2015


ARRIVAL

Park in the NJIT parking garage, in front of the West building. Enter Weston Hall up the ramp from Summit Street. Stop by the registration table set up on the 3rd floor of Weston Hall (the entrance level from the ramp side). Sign in, pick up packet, acquaint yourself with area (restrooms, vending machines, campus, etc.).

Saturday 
1:00 PM Deadline to set up game teams and individual IDs on GGJ web site Whole day Opportunity for reviews and discussions with a number of Art + Design and Information Technology faculty.

Sunday 
3:00 PM Deadline for the projects, the best version of their game uploaded 
3:00-4:00 Informal reviews of games and mingling: the groups show their games to each other and play each others' games while the jury panel reviews games. 
4:00 PM Presentation of the games in the auditorium. The groups present their games to the participants, describe their ambitions and answer questions. 
5:00-5:30 PM Panel Discussion, Awards, Closing Ceremony

PARKING AND CAMPUS INFO

Free parking is available at the parking deck of NJIT. Driving directions to NJIT and its parking deck are here (http://www.njit.edu/about/visit/gettingtonjit.php). Parking is marked as number 1 on the map in this link:http://www.njit.edu/about/visit/njit-maps.php .

The event takes place in Building 5 called Weston Hall (College of Architecture and Design). It is the building shown on the Game Jam site:http://www.globalgamejam.org/sites/2015/new-jersey-institute-technology/.

Access to the building is on the campus side through the ramp (opposite of Martin Luther King Blvd). When you enter the building from the campus side you will be on the 3rd floor. Event registration will take place in the room immediately to your right after you enter the building.
Opening presentations and the keynote will take place in the Weston Lecture Hall on the first floor. If you are arriving late computer labs for the Game Jam are on the same floor in the section marked “School of Art and Design” in the room 236C. For overnight access (after 10 PM) outside jammer would need to contact me or one of the volunteers. There will be signage in a building to help you navigate between various rooms.

For parking use NJIT parking garage. If you plan to stay beyond 10 PM, please park your car on or above level 5. Levels 4 and below are reserved for day parking only. Parking garage has card access. If you don’t have a card, you would need to use buzzer at the gate to gain the access. Mention that you are coming for the Game Jam event. There is also possibility of parking on the adjacent streets around the campus. However, there is no overnight street parking.

Access to food in close vicinity. Drinks and snacks provided on site.

workstation, Adobe CS6, 3DMax, Maya, Unity, Game Maker, Mudbox, and more. Our labs are equipped with Wacom Intuos 5 tablets but gamers who want to use these should bring their own stylus.
